The Audia Flight FLS8 Mono Power Amplifier represents our latest mono power amplifier, featuring exceptional responsiveness, formidable power output (up to 800 Watts 4 Ohm), and an unparalleled ability to drive and control speakers effectively. Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed Strumento Series, our design process for the FLS8 involved training our ears to achieve our sonic perfection goal. This approach mirrors the way a skilled luthier utilizes years of experience, craftsmanship, and a discerning ear to craft instruments with the ideal tonal character and emotional response.
The FLS8 chassis initiates as an ultra-high-grade, custom aluminum cast, undergoing meticulous CNC finishing before each part undergoes thorough inspection and hand-polishing, creating a mirror-like finish. Critical areas receive additional manual finishing, including shot peening and anodization, culminating in a visually stunning product achieved through an elegant silk-screening process.
The FLS8 shares similarities with the Strumento Series amplifiers, including fully balanced circuitry, carefully selected components, 32 high-grade power devices, and a power supply equipped with low impedance capacitors (128000µF only on the main power supply).
The exclusive Audia Flight design of the FLS8 gain stage incorporates an entirely class A current-feedback circuitry. To isolate this crucial amplification stage from interference and provide thermal stabilization for its discrete components, the gain stage is enclosed within an aluminum box and encapsulated in epoxy resin. The main power supply comprises 16 low impedance capacitors (6800µF, 63V each) and consists of two super high current power supplies per channel, along with four stabilized independent stages for each channel, two for the input stages and two for the Audia Flight current feedback stage. Adhering to our philosophy, a 15VA toroidal transformer is dedicated to the logic control and protection circuit to ensure complete isolation from the audio circuit. With a total of 12 power supplies, custom printed circuit boards featuring extra high-grade surface copper, a 2000VA toroidal audio transformer enclosed within two ferromagnetic shields and encapsulated by epoxy resin powering the output stage, absence of fuses in the main power supply for the output stage (as fuses can negatively impact sound), and the utilization of a current sensor read by a microprocessor, the FLS8 Mono Power Amplifier incorporates various "Strumento-esque" elements, delivering optimal performance and an emotionally captivating musical experience for the listener.
