Symbiotic Drive concept

Lira 3 is a two-way design that fuses Indiana Line’s decades of know-how with an innovative mindset. It is conceived around our unique Symbiotic Drive approach, in which the drive units, cabinet and crossover network are developed from the ground up as a single, coherent electroacoustic system. Carefully selected materials – woven polypropylene (Curv), an aluminum-magnesium alloy (Al-Mg), MDF and bamboo – contribute directly to the elevated sound quality. The clean, minimalist look is accentuated by a trim ring that neatly conceals the woofer’s mounting hardware, creating a smooth, uninterrupted baffle.

Dynamic, clean form

Lira 3’s gently rear-tilted baffle ensures ideal time alignment at the listening position, improving fidelity while lending the loudspeaker a dynamic stance. The asymmetrical sides taper toward the top, effectively suppressing internal resonances. The MDF enclosure is finished in multiple layers of durable matte lacquer (PE + PU) for lasting beauty and resilience. Internal bamboo bracing damps vibration, while the 21-mm-thick front provides a solid, rigid foundation.

A loudspeaker shaped like an ancient lyre

The loudspeaker includes a magnetically attached grille made from an acoustically neutral fabric that does not compromise tonal balance. Fitted, the enclosure becomes a minimalist, monolithic block. The cabinet’s trapezoidal geometry is then framed by the black grille, which leaves a subtle 10-mm margin around the baffle edge. This further highlights the loudspeaker’s dynamic side profile and evokes the timeless symbol of harmony – the classical lyre – reinterpreted in crisp, modern lines.

Advanced tweeter transducer

The Lira 3’s tweeter is a proprietary design with a 28-mm aluminum-magnesium (Al-Mg) dome. With over 20% more radiating area than standard dome tweeters, it achieves higher sensitivity. A narrow surround minimizes moving mass, while the ultra-thin 50-micron dome ensures exceptionally pure treble. The motor system is a refined assembly featuring a neodymium magnet, a copper shorting ring and advanced cooling.

Tweeter within the Symbiotic Drive philosophy

This 28-mm tweeter is integral to the holistic Symbiotic Drive concept. Key elements include the 3D-Guide waveguide, the EQ-Ring phase corrector and an LC filter within the crossover. Together they deliver unrivalled high-frequency dispersion and directivity tailored to integrate seamlessly with the mid-bass driver below. Additionally, the inclined baffle and waveguide align the two transducers superbly in phase.

Curv-diaphragm midwoofer

Low and mid frequencies are handled by a new 7-inch long-throw driver with a Curv diaphragm capable of impressive bass output. Its sophisticated motor combines a robust ferrite magnet with three shorting rings (two aluminum and one copper) to control inductance and minimize distortion. Second-generation Dual-Wave suspension enables a wide operating bandwidth and suppresses intermodulation distortion at large excursions, while working in perfect harmony with the Curv diaphragm to control midrange resonances.

A meticulously engineered crossover

The advanced crossover, mounted behind the loudspeaker terminals, employs high-grade components including air-core inductors and polypropylene capacitors. The dedicated LC-Trap filter maximize each driver’s usable range. In keeping with the Symbiotic Drive philosophy, the network’s gentle slopes ensure exemplary phase coherence, creating the impression of a single wideband source.
