Wilson Classic fits perfectly into contemporary trends, drawing on the experience of the best acoustic constructions of the 60's and 70's of the twentieth century. It is not only fashion and nostalgia, but above all a return to the principles of proven solutions, where the cubature of solid cabinets with a wide front wall, efficient, large drivers and a traditional crossover design are essential.

The Wilson Classic is a classic 3-way design, in a large housing for stand mount speakers. In this solution, the wider housing helps to add more volume to the mid and high frequencies, offering a much better tonal balance.

A 1-inch tweeter with a textile dome was mounted on a large, dedicated front panel with a distinctive brand logo with a stylized letter "W" in brass. The midrange driver is a 5½-inch (130mm) Kevlar cone construction and a rigid, non-resonance die-cast aluminum basket structure. The woofer unit is a large, by modern standards, 8-inch (200 mm) construction, also made of aluminum with a Kevlar diaphragm.

On the back of the housing there are two Dual Bass Reflex bass ports with precisely selected diameter and depth. This solution suggests that the loudspeakers should be positioned in such a way that the distance of the rear wall of the enclosure from the wall of the room is at least 50 cm. The rear panel is also a place to install gold-plated, double screwed speaker terminals with comfortable, large nuts. This solution enables the use of bi-spinning.

The housing made of thick MDF is finished with the highest quality vinyl veneer with a clear texture. Two color finishes are available: the traditional Black Ash with a structure of black oak wood and the unique Tobacco character, perfectly imitating the color and structure of dried tobacco leaves - noble brown with subtle streaks matching the color of old gold. An additional flavor is a specially created brass-colored nameplate with the Wilson logo in the central part of the rear panel of the housing, adding a retro style to the whole structure. The entire surface of the front panel of the loudspeaker is closed by a black grille made of an acoustically neutral material with a pleasant, soft to the touch texture, mounted magnetically to the cabinet.

The Wilson Classic is a tribute to the history of loudspeakers, but with significantly improved possibilities offered by modern materials and technologies. The bass is deep and well set, the midrange is open and clean, with a great deal of dynamics enlivening each track. The housing, larger than the modern stand-mount designs, definitely improves the bass capabilities in an unforced manner, which will be appreciated by users looking for perfect, timeless sound, regardless of the type of music they listen to.

For the Wilson Classic loudspeakers, we have created dedicated Classic Stand stands with a solid MDF construction, but irresistibly reminiscent of industrial, metal loudspeaker bases from several dozen years ago. These are perfect, even inseparable elements of the whole, adding not only audiophile elegance, but also positioning the loudspeakers placed on them for a perfect listening session for the audience sitting in front of them. The separately available Classic Stand stands are available in the universal color black. Their surface has a hammer-like structured veneer that gives them a steel-like appearance.

One thing is certain - the Wilson Classic is a construction that is difficult to pass by indifferently. It is a great counterpoint in the vicinity of the living room, where users are not afraid to display the equipment that is their apple in their heads and a source of cultivating their own musical passions.
